Construction site noises blare through the windows. Podcasts whisper within headphones. Insect wings beat against eardrums. We live amidst a soundscape teeming with voices, stories and noises. Some are loud, others barely audible.
THIRSTY EARS is a listening performance in public space unfolding in four open-air listening sessions. The collective Dreaming in Women* examines air, as an often-overheard resource, and its interconnectedness issues of climate and social justice. Together with participants, we will ask: How does air flow through the city of Stuttgart and through us? How does it affect us physically, materially, politically and poetically? In four listening sessions, hearing is experimented with, exchanging ideas and recording sounds, words and rhythms. From these collected impressions, sound pieces will be created.
The Listening Sessions are intended for anyone from the age of 15. We especially encourage FLINTA* people (women, lesbians, inter, non-binary, trans and agender people) to take part. Participation on single or multiple dates is possible.
