Göksu Kunak

Kurzbiografie

Göksu Kunak, born in Ankara, is an artist, researcher and writer currently living in Berlin. Their interest lies in chronopolitics and hybrid texts that deal with the performative lingo of contemporary lifestyles as well as non-Western and unorthodox dramaturgies. Influenced by soap operas and late modernities Göksu Kunak imagines new situations out of real encounters that point out the problematics of heteropatriarchal structures. Recently they have been working on performances and installations that focus on the muscle as an object and the body as a sculpture. In 2025, Göksu Kunak received the Akademie der Künste Kunstpreis (The Berlin Prize for Art) for Performing Arts.
