The Citizen.KANE.Kollektiv consists of artists in the fields of performative and performing arts. Through its work, the collective opens up spaces—urban spaces where places are (re)activated, such as an abandoned nightclub or a historic water reservoir. Spaces of remembrance, for example, by engaging with the chronicles of the ghetto in Stuttgart’s partner city Łódź or addressing the issue of censorship in the light of Europe’s rightward shift. Spaces of communication that not only connect various local and national initiatives but also challenge institutions. Spaces for a new audience through cross-genre productions that expand theater and challenge viewing habits. Spaces for exchange, for example, through long-term collaboration with Theater Replika in Bucharest, guest performances in Lyon, Munich, and Berlin, and festivals in Cologne or Leipzig, as well as in Kampala and Nairobi. Maite Román is an actress who graduated in dramatic arts with a focus on textual modalities, with training in interpretation techniques and methods. She has appeared in various films and performances, including About Live (2024), Cueva (2023), and The Mallorca Files (2021).
