The Glitch Klitsche offers an immediate solution for a long-overdue venue–an interim cinema–providing a sophisticated cultural program in Stuttgart’s Leonhardsvorstadt. In so, the artists contribute to a decade-long discussion about the disappearance, or replacement, of the former municipal cinema. The Glitch Klitsche spotlights the ambitious, albeit inconsequential public discourse surrounding the issue, and responds with a current, contemporary solution. The cinema showcases films focusing on the city, urban culture and society. The structure of the Glitch Klitsche is made of recycled materials assembled with no major hassle, while operating with reclaimed equipment. Offering space for a very small number of spectators, the cinema is linked to the existing urban situation of the Leonhardsvorstadt and the Züblin parking lot. A temporary, accessible smack as a walk-in prelude for the long-awaited return of a cinema.
